Sinead Mansell is a passionate surface pattern designer based in the UK, nestled in a picturesque village along the stunning Morecambe Bay coastline. With sweeping views across the bay and the breathtaking Lake District just a stone’s throw away, her studio is a constant source of inspiration. Nature, local landscapes, and the calming rhythm of the sea all fuel her vibrant, creative process.
Raised in a family deeply rooted in the arts, Sinead was surrounded by creativity from a young age. Her father, an artist, fills the family home with his original works, while her mother’s expertise in textiles has undoubtedly influenced Sinead’s own approach to design. This unique blend of artistic influences has shaped her imaginative perspective and creative voice.
Sinead studied for a BA (Hons) in Surface Pattern Design at Huddersfield University, but it wasn’t until she enrolled in The Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design course in 2012 that she made the bold decision to turn her passion into a career. That moment marked the start of a journey that’s been all about exploring, creating, and sharing her work with the world.
Her designs are often rooted in hand-drawn elements, reflecting her quirky, fun, and organic style. Every piece starts with a simple sketch, which she scans and transforms using Photoshop and Procreate. It's here that Sinead’s signature touch comes to life—adding vibrant, bold colors that breathe energy into each design. This commitment to color and texture is what makes her work stand out, from fashion prints to home decor.
Sinead creates bold, bright, and cheerful designs that lend themselves perfectly to a wide range of products, and she’s always excited about new collaborations and art licensing opportunities. If you're interested in working together, please reach out through the Say Hello contact form, and if you'd like to see the full licensing portfolio, just ask for the password!
In addition to licensing her work, Sinead has opened an Etsy shop, where you can find an exclusive collection of mugs, coasters, placemats, notebooks, tea towels, and calendars—each featuring her one-of-a-kind artwork. She’s always looking to expand her product range, so stay tuned, as there’s always something new just around the corner!
